March 28 - Worship Service

A group of 21 United Methodist clergy who serve in Washington, D.C., invited members of their congregations, Conference clergy, and others to a city-wide service to pray for and discuss marriage equality and to support a United Methodist congregation that has announced it will perform same-gender weddings.

A statement issued by the clergy welcomes Washington's new law that legalizes same-gender marriage because it recognizes the moral dignity of committed gay and lesbian unions and encourages and supports stability in gay and lesbian relationships. Read the statement.

B-WARM wins Cup of Justice Award

BWARM wins 2009 Cup of Justice Award at RMN , CO

The Reconciling Ministries Network presented the Cup of Justice Award at their Convocation over Labor Day weekend. The Cup of Justice Award is given for taking bold action to invoke justice where injustice, oppression and exclusion exist. In 2005, the award was presented to the Retired Reconciling Clergy of the New England Annual Conference who made public statements and took action for marriage equality. In 2007, Rebecca (Becca) Cramer, a young adult who shepherded legislation through the Student Forum creating reconciling worship and workshops as part of official programming, was the recipient. B-WARM congratulates the fellow finalists and celebrates the work of justice across our United Methodist connection. See photos.
